Properties of IPE beams
IPE beams have the following specificities:
- Long products obtained by hot rolling with yield strength and tensile strength in compliance with EN 10025 standard.
- They come in several grades, but the most common are: S235JR / S275JR / S355J2.
- The thickness and width of the web (central part of the beam) as well as the flanges multiply the dimensions of IPE beams.
- A surface finishing of galvanized, shot-blasted, and pre-painted type.
- Possibility of association with black plates, angle bars, and tubes.
- A diversified range of application, especially in case of bending assembly: metal construction, railway industry...

Properties of IPN beams
IPN beams are a variant of I-beams with properties that distinguish them from IPE:
- They result from hot rolling and comply with the European standard 10025. This standard defines their degree of elasticity and tensile strength.
- They come in several grades, including the most well-known: S235JR / S275JR / S355J2.
- Their conventional length is equal to 12100 mm.
- They differ from IPE by the thickness of the flanges, which is increased by 14% towards the connection to the central part. This gives them an inclined appearance.
- The degree of inclination of the flanges makes IPN beams heavier than IPE beam.
